Loss Characteristics of Non-point Pollutant from a Mixed Agriculture Watershed

چکیده

In order to explore the temporal and spatial variability of non-point source pollution in an agriculture watershed, water quality quantity characteristics five flood events at Shuangqiao station Siheshui watershed (south China) were monitored. Five pollutants, including BOD5, TSS, TP, TN, NH3-N, measured analyzed. The pollutant concentrations load-transport rates investigated. It is shown that are remarkably larger than those non-flood events. sequences peak values between parameters runoff flows explored. indicates time interval would be short if high-intensity rainfall occurred initial period a event. Most preceded flow peaks. correlation coefficients TSS other there significant TP

Monitoring of Non-Point Source Pollutions from an Agriculture Watershed in South China

Understanding the characteristics of non-point sources (NPS) pollutions can provide theoretical support for improving water quality. Siheshui watershed located in south China was selected to explore the characteristics of NPS pollutions in rainfall-runoff process. In this small agricultural watershed, five flood events and one non-flood event were monitored, and the water quantity and quality c...

Reduction of Point Source Pollutant Load: An Allocation Model for the Watershed TMDL Program

An allocation scheme of water pollutant reduction is the key procedure to implement a watershed total maximum daily load (TMDL) program. In order to improve the equity for the allocation scheme of water pollutant load reduction, five indexes involved in allocation processes were selected from fields associated with society, environment, economics, and resources. The weights of these indexes wer...

Evaluating Watershed Pollutant Trading Schemes under Uncertainty: a Computational Approach

We present and illustrate an approach to evaluate the options for watershed pollutant trading based on the development and application of a comprehensive simulation model. In particular, attention is focused on phosphorus as a nutrient/pollutant, and our illustrative case focuses on a portion of Chattahoochee watershed, between the outflow from Lake Lanier at the Buford Dam and the inflow to La...

Mitigating non point source pollution from dairy farms : economic evaluation on the Don watershed

We built a model of regulation for non point source water pollution through non linear taxation/subsidisation of agricultural production. Farms are heterogeneous along two dimensions: their ability to transform inputs into final production, and the available area they possess. We propose a framework for describing the ability of farmers, the cost and the emission joint functions from a populati...
